University of Tennessee to Host Conference for Horse Owners

The University of Tennessee (UT) College of Veterinary Medicine will host “Knowing Your Horse Inside and Out” on March 5.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the conference lasts until 4:30 p.m. The conference will be held in room A118 at the college which is located on the UT agricultural campus at 2407 River Drive in Knoxville. Tours of the new equine hospital and equine performance and rehabilitation center will available immediately following the conference.

The conference is designed to provide education for those who have owned horses for years or are new to the horse world. Speakers for the conference include board-certified faculty of the UT Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences. Topics include equine nutrition, pituitary pars intermedia dysfunction (PPID or equine Cushing’s disease), parasitology, back pain, toxic plants, natural foot care, and dentistry.
