Artwork at the WEG Village
For horse people, hardly anything is more beautiful than a live horse—gazing, grazing, racing, resting, rising, trotting, trail-blazing. But artwork displayed at the WEG Village in Caen revealed a real effort to capture the horse's many beauties and bring them out in unique, creative, powerful ways.
There were a few art galleries here, but in some ways the whole village was a gallery. In this country, which was home to greats such as Monet, Degas, Van Gogh, Renoir, and Gaugin, you could find breathtaking sculptures and paintings inside stands and along pathways throughout the WEG Village.
Here’s a list of the ones that caught my eye, although it was hard to narrow this down to just 10. (Unfortunately, artists and materials used were not always known.)
