15 Washington Horses Die in Barn Fire

Fire at a boarding stable in rural Pierce County, Wash., killed 15 horses on Thursday night, Dec. 11, according to an article in thenewstribune.com. A space heater in a tack room that tipped over is blamed for the fire.

Hay was stored in the wooden barn, and firefighters were unable to get into the burning building to rescue any horses as the fire was out of control by the time they arrived.
