Equine Rescue Fundraiser Near Chicago

Field Of Dreams Horse Rescue and Adoption in St. Charles is holding a fundraiser on Oct. 25 at Gaslight Manor in Aurora, Ill., followed by live and silent auctions. Tickets are $50 and proceeds benefit the rescue.

More than 300 items have been donated, including a weeklong stay at a beachfront condo in Texas, including airfare, and a 10-person cruise in Chicago, riding lessons, gift certificates, and weekend stays.

Field of Dreams currently is home to eight horses and a donkey.

"Right now it's so bad with the economy there are 25 horses on our waiting list," founder Su Balla said in an article on SuburbanChicagoNews. The article also tells the plight of saving the old donkey now named Orlando who was left to freeze to death.

Balla said in the article that money is the deciding factor in helping horses in need.

Tickets should be reserved by Oct. 10 by calling 847/431-6302 or by visiting www.fodhra.org.
