Paint Horse Reported Stolen in Illinois

Stolen Horse International is asking horse owners to help locate Maximum Reflections, a 12-year-old Paint gelding who was taken from his pasture in Flat Rock, Ill., on Aug. 23.

Keith Caughren, stepfather of Max's 13-year-old owner, Kaitlynn, reported to the sheriff's office that a portion of Max's fence along the roadway of Highway 1150 East was freshly cut when the horse was removed.

The horse is 15 to 15.2 hands high. He is mostly white with a brown medicine cap on his head and several other brown spots. He has blue eyes and a white mane and tail. He was shod on all four hooves with pads on the front shoes

Along with mobilizing people in the area, the Caughren's are working with Stolen Horse International. Max's information is posted on the group's Web site, NetPosse.com.

"Our family is just stunned," said Keith Caughren. "Kaitlynn barreled raced and ran poles on Max in competition and did well. Kaitlynn is just heartbroken. We cannot believe he is gone."

Horse owners are asked to print a flyer with Max's information to post at public businesses, tack and feed stores, and auction houses.

Anyone with information is asked to call Stolen Horse International at 704/484-2165. They can also call the Crawford County Sheriff's Department at 618/546-1515, for which the case number is 08080689.
