Windblown Debris Blamed for Montana Horse Death

A windblown plastic sheet is being blamed for the death of a horse in Helena, Mont., the Helena Independent Record reported.

The sheet allegedly came loose from a construction site and wrapped around the horse's head, causing him to panic and run through a fence. A veterinarian euthanatized the horse because of the extent of his injuries.

County Sheriff Cheryl Liedle told the paper windblown debris is an ongoing problem in the area because of increased construction and recent windy conditions, and noted she is encouraging people to contain construction materials in a secure container.
