The Kentucky Horse Council (KHC) has announced the return of the Kentucky Equine Networking Association (KENA) meetings, the first of which will take place Aug. 18 at Fasig-Tipton in Lexington.

A dinner and educational series open to both equine professionals and horse owners, the Aug. 18 KENA lecture and will feature a networking reception from 5:30-6:00 p.m. followed by dinner with the main speaker from 6-8.

The group—focused on the Kentucky Thoroughbred, sport, and pleasure horse community—is charged with providing an educational and social venue for equine professionals and horse enthusiasts from all disciplines. Supported by the University of Kentucky Equine Initiative and the Kentucky Horse Council, KENA lectures provide the opportunity for attendees to share ideas and business strategies and to obtain up-to-date knowledge on horse and farm management.

Presented by Zoetis, the Aug. 18 educational topic will be "Biosecurity and Vaccination: Evaluating Flu and Herpes Risk," presented by Rob Holland, DVM, PhD. Holland is the director of outcomes research for Zoetis and a well-known national speaker who consults worldwide on infectious diseases of the horse
