University of Georgia to Hold Horse Owner Seminar

The 2010 Annual Horse Owner Seminar at the University of Georgia is scheduled for Aug. 14 at the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine in Athens, Ga. It provides a full day of programs for horse owners to learn from clinicians and residents at the school. The UGA student chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (scAAEP) is presenting the day.

"It will be a great opportunity to let horse people in the community get access to the educational benefits that we have here at the College of Veterinary Medicine," said Dustin Major, president-elect of the scAAEP.

Check-in will begin at 7:30 in the Student Lobby, followed by the 8 a.m.-1 p.m. seminar and the 1-3:30 p.m. wet lab. The $50 registration fee ($25 for children 13 and under) includes lectures, breakfast, lunch, informational handouts, and a CD of the proceedings, while the wet lab is an additional $25, paid in advance. Registrations after Aug. 1 will cost an additional $10.

Proceeds from the seminar are used to support student activities such as attending conferences and bringing in speakers
