Pregnant Horse Killed in Car Accident

A pregnant horse was killed in Monroe County, N.Y., Thursday (Dec. 28) after being hit by a car.

Police say 17-year-old Ashley Cocuzzi was driving just after midnight when her car struck the mare, which had run into the roadway.

A pregnant horse was killed in Monroe County, N.Y., Thursday (Dec. 28) after being hit by a car.


Police say 17-year-old Ashley Cocuzzi was driving just after midnight when her car struck the mare, which had run into the roadway.


The mare died at the scene. It was one of four horses that escaped from a nearby farm. The other three horses were unharmed.
