Auction to Benefit Days End Farm Horse Rescue

Days End Farm Horse Rescue will host its 2nd annual "Grapes of Hooves" wine tasting and auction at the Ten Oaks Ballroom in Clarksville, Md. Funds raised by this event will provide medical intervention and rehabilitation for abused and neglected horses, as well as horse rescue services, community outreach, humane education programs, and volunteer opportunities to the public. Last year, this event raised $28,000.

The event will be held on April 4 from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and will feature a wide range of red and white wines, as well as champagnes, for sampling and purchase. This fundraiser will also feature the local winery Black Ankle Vineyards of Mount Airy. Foods including hot Maryland Crab dip, gourmet cheeseboards, fresh vegetables and dip, carved roast sirloin of beef, turkey breast, and a cash bar will also be available.

The auction is both silent and live, offering items like framed, signed, limited-edition prints and photographs, jewelry, apparel, pottery, crystal, sports memorabilia, dining gift certificates, and vacation stays. Tickets for this "dressy casual" event, sponsored in part by SPC Inc., can be purchased ($65 per person; $600 for a table of 10) by calling Days End Farm Horse Rescue, 301/854-5037.

Ten Oaks Ballroom is located at 5000 Signal Bell Lane, Clarksville, Md., 21029.
