Jail Sentence for California Horse Cruelty Family
The California family convicted on multiple animal cruelty charges connected to the removal of 100 horses from their Frazier Park ranch will serve jail time and are prohibited from owning horses for five years.

The California family convicted on multiple animal cruelty charges connected to the removal of 100 horses from their Frazier Park ranch will serve jail time and are prohibited from owning horses for five years.
Jane Bor, her son Ernie, and daughter-in-law Cecelia were arrested in October 2008 after authorities removed the animals from their property. Three horses died shortly after the seizure. The surviving horses received rehabilitative treatment and were placed in adoptive homes.
The Bors were later each charged with 13 counts of felony animal abuse/neglect. Last month, all three pleaded guilty to the charges.
On Friday, a Ventura County judge sentenced each family member to 6 months in jail, $2,500 fines, and 5 years probation. During their probation they are prohibited from owning horses, and must undergo animal care counseling, said Ventura County Senior Deputy District Attorney Wendy Macfarlane
