KDA Animal Health to Hold Public Meeting to Discuss EIA

The Kansas Department of Agriculture’s (KDA) Division of Animal Health will host a public informational meeting about equine infectious anemia (EIA) on Monday, Sept. 18, at 6:00 p.m.

The meeting will be held in the Grandstand Meeting Room at the Finney County Fairgrounds, 409 ½ Lake Ave. in Garden City.

The meeting will be an opportunity for local horse owners to learn more about EIA and the recent cases identified in southwest Kansas. The Kansas Animal Health Commissioner, Justin Smith, DVM, will share information about the surveillance and testing that has taken place following the initial positive EIA cases.
