The Kentucky Horse Council (KHC) Board of Directors welcomed new and returning board members on Nov. 8 following elections at the annual membership meeting held in Lexington, Ky.

During the membership meeting, attendees from around the Commonwealth voted to approve changes to the KHC bylaws and elect board members. One third of the 18-member board of directors terms expire, and this year six directors were elected for terms beginning in 2011.

Current KHC board members re-elected to serve a three-year term included Wayne Hipsley, Lisa Jackson, and Kristin Hix of Lexington; Margie Loeser of Louisville; and Anna Zinkhon of Cold Springs.

Brian Kirby of Louisville joined the KHC board of directors at the Nov. 8 meeting. Kirby is the founder and managing partner of Bluegrass Equestrian, LLC, a hunter/jumper show promotion and management company. The company manages an awards program that includes more than 12 shows hosted at facilities in the Lexington and Northern Kentucky areas.
