A seminar and riding clinic focusing on off-the-track Thoroughbreds, showing different stages in their training from right off the track to beginning a new career, will be held at the Horse Park of New Jersey May 15-16. The event is hosted by ReRun, a 501(c)(3) Thoroughbred adoption program, and prominent event rider Steuart Pittman of Dodon Farm.

Saturday afternoon, Pittman will use selected off-the-track Thoroughbreds to demonstrate various stages of retraining. After this, a reception will feature guest speakers, including jockeys and veterinarians, who will talk about their experiences working on the racetrack.

A riding clinic with Pittman will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Individual flat work and group jumping lessons will be offered at $65 and $80. ReRun encourages people to bring their Thoroughbreds of all training levels, as the lessons will be adjusted accordingly.

"We would love to make this an annual event," said Jane Gilbert, president of ReRun. "It is a very unique clinic specific to ex-racehorses and will raise much-needed funds for ReRun’s adoption program
