Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital will host special tours April 22-24, for visitors during the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event. Tour guests will be guided through the state-of-the-art facility and observe surgery, diagnostic imaging, and podiatry, and learn about advances in equine veterinary medicine and patient care. Educational presentations on MRI and Equine Podiatry will be included in the tour.

Katie Garrett, DVM, will present information about MRI and its application in equine veterinary medicine. MRI has only been used in equine clinical cases for the past decade and has come into widespread use just within the last 5 years. MRI is a rapidly evolving sector of equine medicine that is helping to advance veterinary diagnostic abilities.

The veterinarians and farriers of the Rood & Riddle podiatry center will provide guests with a display of therapeutic shoes used at the center and explain their application and function. Certified Journeyman Farrier, Rodney King will also give a forging demonstration.

Tours will be offered at 2 p.m. on April 22, and at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on April 23 and April 24. Tours are by reservation only and limited to 30 people per time slot. For tour reservations, please contact Robin Murray at 859/233-0371 or by e-mail to rmurray@roodandriddle.com
