Two days after a rustler made off with a life-sized statue of 1978 Triple Crown winner Affirmed, the champion was found.

Kentucky State Police said they found the fiberglass statue of the horse with a jockey on its back in an apartment in Bowling Green, about 115 miles south of the Louisville coffee company’s headquarters where it was last seen.

Brian G. Abell, 21, is charged with receiving stolen property for having the statue, valued at about $15,000, in his bedroom, troopers said.

The statue was taken from in front of John Conti Coffee Co.’s headquarters in Louisville. The company had purchased the horse after the Gallopalooza show, which featured decorated statues of horses around the city, in 2004 and placed it on a cement pedestal with two spotlights on it
