The online news site 1010WINS.com has reported that a New York City Police Department police horse died on the boardwalk at Coney Island on the night of July 2.


The article read, “Officer Mattius Sobato was adjusting the saddle of the horse, named Sledge, around 9 p.m. Saturday when the saddle fell under the horse, frightening him, police said. Sledge galloped away and smashed his head into the boardwalk.
