Texas Veterinarian Accused of Animal Cruelty

A Texas veterinarian could be facing multiple animal cruelty charges in connection with the removal of 30 horses from her Waller County farm.

Attorney Steven Rocket Rosen said deputies from the Waller County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant on a farm owned by his client Kathie Digilio, DVM, on July 10. Thirty allegedly maltreated horses were subsequently removed from the property, he said, and taken to True Blue Animal Rescue in Brenham, Texas.

Waller County District Attorney Elton Mathis later accused Digilio of animal cruelty, Rosen said. Digilio was slated to turn herself into Waller County authorities on July 13, her lawyer said.

“We don’t know how many counts there are or anything else until then” Rosen said
