Montana Horse Discovered Dead

Montana law enforcement authorities are hoping that the public can help them identify whoever is responsible for the death of a Ravalli County horse

Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman said that on May 18 the horse's owner found the animal with a rope tied around its neck, dead in its corral. Hoffman said the death appeared to be deliberate.

“This was not an accidental strangulation. It was a purposeful act,” Hoffman said.

Hoffman said the investigation into the incident was ongoing and declined further comment.

A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the horse's death, Hoffman said.

Anyone with information about the incident should call Det. Scott Burlingham of the Ravalli County Sheriff's Office at 406/375-4060.
