Arrow Wound Kills Vermont Horse

Police in Barre, Vermont, are seeking whoever fatally shot a horse using a bow and arrow.

Barre City Police Chief Timothy J. Bombadier, said officers responded to an Oct. 5 report from an owner that sometime during the night, someone used a bow and arrow to shoot a Quarter Horse in a pasture near Barre City. The horse bled out and died as a result of its wound, he said.

Bombadier said the horse was shot intentionally.

“Even though it is bow season in Vermont, this occurred in the dark, in the middle of the night,” Bombadier said. “In no way was this a hunting accident
