The Rutgers Cooperative Extension and the Equine Science Center have announce an educational equine pasture walk workshop scheduled for Wednesday, July 29.

This workshop will take place at the Ryders Lane Best Management Practices Demonstration Horse Farm in New Brunswick, New Jersey, from 5:30 to 8:00pm.

Rutgers pasture experts will discuss grazing research comparing continuous and rotational grazing systems. Participants will learn how to evaluate their own pastures using techniques from the study, such as soil sampling, forage sampling, understanding these test results, measuring forage height, and identifying grasses and weeds. Participants will see the differences between rotational and continuous grazing systems, in addition to hearing some data from the research study.

Registration is $10 payable by cash or check made out to “Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey”. Light snacks and refreshments will be available. The registration form is available online
