Time Change

How does your horse schedule change when the clocks fall back to standard time and the days get shorter?

I ride less because it's dark when I get home in the evening.
I change my schedule to accommodate riding during the daylight/I have a flexible schedule.
I have an lit arena/area to work my horse, so the time change doesn't affect my riding time.
I don't live in an area that has a time change.

I ride less, but that's got more to do with the fact that it's colder outside then the time change.

It really sucks to have the time change, mostly because I have school and it is getting dark by 4:30

11/12/2017 2:17:54 PM

I don't ride when the time sets back so I put my horses on time off until next spring.

11/12/2017 12:40:26 PM

I have no indoor arena to work out in during the winter months, so my riding falls to once a week

Quality horse time comes on the weekends for me.

11/10/2017 10:40:00 AM

The cold and snow affects riding more than time change.

11/10/2017 7:30:42 AM

I don't ride at all in the winter. It's too cold

11/10/2017 1:20:38 AM

It. Doesn’t change. I’m retired.

11/9/2017 7:37:56 PM

I ride before I do my stable chores because I can do them after dark

11/9/2017 4:53:59 PM

Regardless of the time change I drive to the barn in the winter at the same time and frequency

11/9/2017 10:07:41 AM

The snow usually sets in about the time we change the clocks, and I don't ride much in the winter.

Arizona, no time change. But I do try to ride mid-day in winter because of the shorter days.

11/8/2017 12:05:59 AM

Shorter rides mid-day due to the colder weather and less time to ride.

11/7/2017 4:59:12 PM

My horse schedule is based on the sun, not the clock. The day starts when there's light.

11/7/2017 4:28:31 PM

I ride for short periods of time and usually bareback, so I can ride several horses fast in winter.

11/7/2017 4:18:19 PM

I'm retired, so I can ride whenever the mood hits me. I count my blessings.

11/7/2017 3:24:19 PM

The daylight doesn't affect my riding schedule as much as it does feeding & turnout
