One of my aunt's horses went temporarily blind. Wasn't vaccinated.

2 horses - 1999 before approved vaccine. All horses except foals get WNV vaccine now.

My horse was vacinated for west Nile but still came down with a mild case. Banamine helped.

Vaccine is safe, effective, everyone uses it in my region so no WNV contracted by any horses

I don't think it is a threat because we live in Alaska, where it is very uncommon.

West Nile is a threat. My mare recovered but was was unable to utilize her feed well
