My horses get rabie shots as part of their ANNUAL vet check. Seems a smart thing to do!

10/18/2010 9:42:37 PM

Which should it be for safety reasons? Are all rabies vaccines good for 3 years for equines as well

10/18/2010 3:42:32 PM

My boys are too precious to take chances

10/18/2010 12:56:12 AM

Why not??

10/18/2010 12:28:25 AM

Too many rabid animals reported every year. Can't take the chance with my horses!

10/17/2010 5:07:51 PM

this is MUST have on our vaccination schedule

10/17/2010 11:16:40 AM

10/16/2010 7:11:57 AM

10/16/2010 2:33:16 AM

We produce Equine Rabisbies ImmunoGlobulin (ERIG) and never vaccinate horses which is not used.

10/16/2010 2:15:25 AM

I vaccinate every other year

10/15/2010 11:19:38 AM

10/15/2010 8:51:27 AM

Don't need to, thank God, because we are in Ireland.

10/15/2010 8:34:50 AM

every 2 years

10/14/2010 11:59:04 PM

Horses winter out, lots of wild life nearby. Herd health practiced.

the vaccine is good for one year

10/14/2010 7:18:12 PM

every two years

10/14/2010 4:51:35 PM

Vet recomendation in our area is to not vaccinate.

10/14/2010 2:35:25 PM

Absolutely!!! Not worth taking the risk!

10/14/2010 2:33:10 PM

Better safe than sorry. They are in fields surrounded by wooded area with lots of wildlife.

10/14/2010 2:32:22 PM

Only if there is a single case of rabies within 75 miles

10/14/2010 11:29:03 AM

Too scary of a disease not to, and too easy to prevent!

10/14/2010 10:08:24 AM

10/13/2010 11:41:31 AM

My reccommended every other year, so I will occaisionally skip a year.

10/13/2010 10:19:23 AM

If there is an outbreak, or if traveling to or in an area it is a threat. (nothing local in 40+ yrs)

10/13/2010 10:12:55 AM

Never hear of a case of rabies in MI for horses.

10/13/2010 12:25:00 AM

10/13/2010 12:22:08 AM

The potential risk for Rabies is not prevelant here

10/12/2010 11:59:49 PM

Every Spring.

10/12/2010 10:45:36 PM

ALL our animals are vaccinated yearly

10/12/2010 10:29:40 PM

horses should be vacc. once a yr for Rabies.

10/12/2010 10:23:01 PM

due to large amount of wildlife and bats all animals are vaccinated here

10/12/2010 9:54:45 PM

Annual required at shows & rides, but think every 3 yrs should be OK

10/12/2010 9:25:29 PM

You'd be crazy not to vaccinate yearly!

10/12/2010 8:56:10 PM

every year

10/12/2010 8:34:21 PM

Annually until they come up with a longer-term vaccine; See AAEP 2009, article #15754 about efficacy

10/12/2010 8:30:06 PM

as much for my protection as theirs

10/12/2010 8:26:14 PM

I live in Australia!!

10/12/2010 8:24:11 PM

We haven't had a reported rabies case around here, but if we do I'll vaccinate

10/12/2010 7:47:31 PM

by my vet's instruction

10/12/2010 7:35:12 PM

my horse is turned out 24/7, so I feel he is more vulnerable than a horse in a stall.

10/12/2010 7:33:42 PM

Take no chances with Rabies!

10/12/2010 7:08:07 PM

To many wild animals not to vaccinate we do it ourselves and give them everything for less than $70

10/12/2010 6:48:08 PM

per our vet.

10/12/2010 6:39:45 PM

State law requires it be given annually.

10/12/2010 6:25:15 PM

per my vet's recommendation

10/12/2010 6:22:39 PM

100% fatal disease-effective vaccine--no brainer

10/12/2010 6:12:55 PM

My veterinarian doesn't recommend it. I am not sure why - are complications common?

10/12/2010 5:42:56 PM

Every two years, unless there are frequent cases of rabid animals.

10/12/2010 5:38:56 PM

Why would I risk my horse or myself? No brainer!

10/12/2010 5:13:12 PM

Not prevelent among horses in California.

10/12/2010 4:46:58 PM

Annually unless titers show immunity.

10/12/2010 4:42:12 PM

I would vaccinate yeary if I could do it myself but the state requires a vet to administer it.

10/12/2010 4:39:06 PM

In the Spring before the summer.

10/12/2010 4:12:18 PM

Every spring (spRing - Rabies; easy to remember!)

10/12/2010 3:58:44 PM

vaccinated once for life

10/12/2010 3:40:19 PM

I do titers. Some competitive trail rides require vacc. so sometimes give even if titer is ok.

10/12/2010 3:27:49 PM

the cost of the shot is less painful than the loss of the horse

10/12/2010 3:25:47 PM

my first grade teacher lost a prize filly to rabies. that was over 30 years ago.I always vaccinate

10/12/2010 3:25:31 PM

It's the law!

10/12/2010 3:17:47 PM

To compete, we must.

10/12/2010 3:09:58 PM

I live in UK

10/12/2010 2:35:30 PM

10/12/2010 12:22:26 PM
