Kentucky Barn Fire Claims Saddlebred Horses

The farm owner unsuccessfully attempted to save 13 horses inside the barn.

A barn fire has claimed the lives of 13 Saddlebred horses in Bullitt County, Kentucky.

Mt. Washington, Kentucky, Fire Chief Charles Fugate said firefighters responded to a call of a barn fire on June 10 and, upon arrival, found a barn fully involved in fire.

“The roof had caved in, and it was completely destroyed,” he said. “It was a very old barn.”

Fugate said the farm owner attempted to save the horses inside the barn, but was unsuccessful
