New Equine Canada Horse Welfare Rule Effective Immediately

Horses not accepted at the first FEI inspection may not compete in national classes at the same event for 48 hours.

Equine Canada (EC) is informing Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI)-level athletes, owners, and competition organizers of the following extraordinary rule amendment, which is effective immediately:

Section A, Article A603.1 o)

At a competition (event) holding concurrent Equine Canada and FEI-sanctioned classes/divisions, a horse that is presented to but not accepted at the first FEI Horse Inspection, or at re-inspection, may not compete in Equine Canada classes/divisions held at the same competition (event) for a minimum of 48 hours.

A horse held for re-inspection and not subsequently re-presented is subject to the same condition
