Indiana Horse Death Probed

Law enforcement authorities in Adams County, Indiana, are investigating the death of a Quarter Horse attacked in barn at a riding stable in Decatur.

Adams County Sheriff Shane L. Rekeweg said the animal's owner reported finding the horse dead in the barn on Jan. 4.

“The horse was cut in such a way that it bled out,” Rekeweg said.

The horse was one of several animals located in the barn at the time. The other horses were unhurt.

“We don't know why this horse was targeted,” Rekeweg said.

He declined further comment on the ongoing investigation.

While the probe continues, anyone with information about the incident should call the Adams County Sheriff's Department at 260/724-5345.
