Purdue to Host Horseman's Education Forum

The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine will host a one-day horseman's education forum Feb. 9 at Lynn Hall on the university's campus. In addition to educational sessions, a tour of the university's large animal hospital and an equine treadmill demonstration will be provided.

According to the program brochure, "the purpose of the Horseman's Forum is to educate horse owners and equine industry professionals about current horse health issues, ranging from basic preventive health care and husbandry topics to state-of-the-art medical advancements."

Scheduled lecture topics include magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography, recognizing ocular emergencies, lameness locators, foal care, and senior horse care, among others.

Registration is $40 for regular attendees and $20 for students; a box lunch is included with registration. Additionally, 6.5 continuing education credits are offered for attending the workshop. Registration information is available via the program brochure.
