Law enforcement authorities in Montgomery County, Texas, are seeking whoever injured a horse in a failed attempt to steal the animal.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department Spokesman Lt. Dan Norris said that on Nov. 19, sheriff’s department personnel responded to a report that someone tried to steal a horse from its pasture. The theft attempt was unsuccessful, but the horse sustained several injuries when it ran through a fence during the incident.

"The horse had cuts on its legs, nose, and mouth, but is doing fine," Norris said.
