Researchers at the University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, in Leicestershire, England, are seeking veterinarian participation in a survey that is part of a study aimed at collecting information regarding clinical presentations and evaluations of different types of colic, according to the study’s website.

"This survey is collecting evidence on how cases of colic present and are assessed the first time they are seen in veterinary practice," the website reads. "There is currently no literature on this, and therefore we are asking any veterinary surgeons who see colic cases to help us generate this by telling us what they see and do."

The survey requests information on colic cases, including case presentation and history, physical examination findings, diagnostic tests, treatment and outcome, and additional case information.

Interested veterinarians can register at the study’s website. For more information, individuals are asked to contact Sarah Freeman, BVetMed, PhD, CertVA, Cert VR, CertES, Dipl. ECVS, MRCVS (sarah.freeman@nottingham.ac.uk) or John Burford, MA, VetMB, CertVA, MRCVS (john.burford@nottingham.ac.uk)
