Horse owners looking for up-to-date information on parasites and drug resistance can find two new videos on containing presentations made in Kentucky to a group of veterinarians, vet techs, and horse owners. These are sponsored by Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health.

"Drug Resistant Parasites: Rules & Tools of Engagement" was presented by Wendy E. Vaala, VMD, Dipl. ACVIM, a Senior Equine Technical Service veterinarian with Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health.

"Practical Management of Anthelmintic-Resistant Ascarids" was presented by Craig R. Reinemeyer, DVM, PhD, of East Tennessee Clinical Research, Inc.

Each hour-long video features the most up-to-date information on resistant parasites, how to recognize the problem, what to do if you have resistant parasites on your farm, and how to avoid developing resistant parasites.

West Nile Virus Fact Sheet

 Also launched on is a new West Nile Virus Fact Sheet sponsored by Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health.

The West Nile Virus Fact Sheet, written by a veterinarian who works for, provides basic information about the disease, how horses acquire it, how it is treated, and what to do to prevent your horse from contracting the sometimes-fatal disease.
