Mark Webster, managing director of the Austrailian based William Inglis & Son Ltd. bloodstock auctuineers, this afternoon announced that the online stallion nominations auction to raise funds for equine victims of the Victorian Bushfires and Queensland floods has raised an amazing $130,261. The online auction held in conjunction with Project Hope Horse Welfare Victoria (PHHWV) commenced on April 20 with 251 donated stallion nominations from at least 24 different horse breeds in a united effort from the equine industry to support their own community in troubled times.

“This is an outstanding result and will hopefully make a difference to horse owners who are still in need following the terrible bushfires and floods,” commented Mark Webster “More than 600 people registered as bidders for the online auction with 4000 online bids received over the five day period. The online auction website was built by my team here at Inglis specifically for this fundraising event and I’m pleased to say the technology worked perfectly. NSW based volunteers Tristan Bryan of Meridian Estate Warmblood Stud and Heather Studdy of Yatama Stud should also be congratulated for coming up with the idea for the auction and for doing all the administrative work behind the scenes
