Dobbin Named Horse of the Year by Eventing Association

Dobbin, owned and ridden by Dover Saddlery employee Corinne Ashton, has been named 2008 Horse of the Year by the United States Eventing Association.

Dobbin, a 14-year-old Thoroughbred gelding is owned and ridden by Corinne Ashton who works part time in customer service at Dover Saddlery, near her home in Princeton, Mass.

"It has always been a privilege to be partnered with Dobbin; he is a rare and true friend" commented Ashton. She cited the support from Dover as a contributor to the pair's success.

During the 2008 eventing season, Dobbin and Ashton were placed in almost every event they entered. They took first place in Intermediate at Groton House, were the Adequan USEA Advanced Gold Cup winners at the Millbrook Horse Trials in August, won the Witts End CIC*** in Canada and were Reserve Champions at the Fair Hill CCI***. To crown such an outstandingly consistent performance, Ashton and Dobbin have been selected for the 2009 Eventing Training Sessions to be conducted by USEF Eventing Coach Capt. Mark Phillips.

Dover wishes Ashton and Dobbin continued success as they prepare to compete at Rolex again in 2009
