Prices Down on Agricultural Commodities

Wheat prices have plummeted from historic highs to their lowest levels in 16 months amid the turmoil in the credit markets and huge wheat crops worldwide, analysts say.

The sell-off of commodity futures contracts began in earnest in September as credit markets started to seize up, prompting speculators to sell to free up cash, said Mike Woolverton, PhD, grain market economist at Kansas
