Utah State University Faculty, Students Release Paper on Slaughter

Faculty members of Utah State University, along with several undergraduate students, recently completed and published a paper entitled "The State of the Horse Industry Since the Closing of the Horse Harvesting Facilities."

"Utah State University undergraduate students helped with researching what rescue facilities and auction companies across the country were experiencing," said Patricia Evans, EdD, Extension equine specialist with the University's Animal, Dairy, and Veterinary Sciences Department. "This project has opened the eyes of many students and others across the country as to what the impact is for horses and horse owners."

The paper can be accessed on the Utah State University Extension Equine Web site.
