Kentucky Derby winner and champion Real Quiet, who was treated at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center for abscesses in both hind feet, was returned March 22 to Dr. William Solomon’s Pin Oak Lane Farm near New Freedom, Pa.

“He’s excellent, completely 100%, and is breeding at the farm on a normal schedule,” said syndicate manager Mike Jester. “Just to make sure, he covered three mares on each of his last two days at New Bolton. Dr. Dean Richardson and his staff did a great job with him.”

Real Quiet, a 12-year-old son of Quiet American out of the Believe It mare Really Blue, was sent to New Bolton Feb. 19 after showing signs of discomfort after mounting his mares. Abscesses were determined to be the cause of discomfort, and he was successfully treated.

Real Quiet has sired 13 stakes winners, including this year’s grade I winner Pussycat Doll. He stands for $5,000
