A woman from The Dalles, Ore., has been killed in a fiery car crash about one mile west of the city.
According to the Wasco County Sheriff’s office, at about 5:30 p.m. yesterday, 66-year-old Hazel Zitzelberger was on Highway 30 near The Dalles. That’s when she struck a horse in the road.
Her vehicle then crossed into the oncoming lane, and struck a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Brandon McKenzie, also of The Dalles.
A fire started as a result of the crash, which fully engulfed Zitzelberger’s vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene
