Allergy testing is done in many species, including horses and humans. Unfortunately, testing to determine a horse is hypersensitive to insect bites is difficult. This disease (insect hypersensitivity) occurs seasonally, in horses of all ages and breeds, causing dermatitis and self mutilation.
