Churchill Downs Incorporated Twin Spires Club to Sponsor 'Racing to the Rescue Drive' For Members

Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) is offering a unique and easy way for racing fans to contribute to the relief efforts in Louisiana and other states affected by Hurricane Katrina. Through its customer-rewards program, the Twin Spires Club (TSC), CDI will allow patrons to donate the monetary value of TSC points they have earned to the NTRA's "Racing to the Rescue" fund. The NTRA will in turn donate all contributions to existing charities to aid in recovery efforts.

Twin Spires Club members wishing to make a contribution to the drive should either visit or stop by the Twin Spires Club center at any CDI facility. The minimum number of points that may be donated is 1,000. There is no maximum.

"The racing industry has done an outstanding job of working together for the benefit of those impacted by Hurricane Katrina," said CDI Senior Director of Marketing Jeremy Clemons. "Our 'Racing to the Rescue Drive' opens fundraising to our Twin Spires Club members as well, and provides a simple and effective way for them to support the relief efforts."

Members earn points by wagering on races at any CDI-owned facility or off-track betting location. Membership in the Twin Spires Club is free. More information is available online at

More than 250,000 TSC members earn points and benefits each time they wager at participating locations, including Arlington Park; Calder Race Course; Churchill Downs; Ellis Park; Fair Grounds Race Course; Hoosier Park; Trackside Off-Track Betting locations in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky; and Finish Line Off-Track Betting sites in Louisiana.
