Loose Horse Falls in Culvert, Dies

Police and rescue personnel were unable to save a horse that escaped from its pasture on Monday and fell into a culvert in Ravenna, Mich., reports The Muskegon Chronicle.

Officials received calls to help a girl and a horse in the 6000 block of Moorland Road.

"Firefighters provided lights and state police directed traffic along Moorland, staying on the scene an hour and a half after the 9 p.m. incident," the article said.

The horse, which was a 13-year-old's show horse, died from its injuries on the scene.
