Morris Animal Foundation Honors Veterinarian

Morris Animal Foundation recently announced the induction of University of Wisconsin-Madison veterinarian  Benjamin Darien, DVM, Dipl. ACVIM,  into its Veterinary Honor Roll. Darien was nominated for the Honor Roll by Dan, Dayle and Dana Marsh of Chicago.

Darien received his doctorate of veterinary medicine from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He currently practices at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's School of Veterinary Medicine where he is an associate professor in the department of medical sciences.

"To be selected for Morris Animal Foundation's Veterinary Honor Roll highlights one of my most enjoyable and memorable veterinary experiences," said Darien. "I will always be appreciative of animal lovers like the Marsh's whose support is needed for the advancement of clinical medicine in the veterinary profession."

The Marsh Family met Darien while he was treating their daughter Dana's horse, Missy. She suffered from multiple medical problems and was hospitalized at the University for an extensive period of time.

"Dr. Darien went out of his way to save Missy's life," said the Marsh family. "He spent countless personal hours checking on her and, despite seemingly hopeless circumstances, maintained a positive outlook throughout her treatment."

To date, 119 veterinarians have been inducted into Morris Animal Foundation's Veterinary Honor Roll. Honorees are nominated by donors who contribute $500 or more to the Foundation on behalf of the veterinarian. Each honoree receives a plaque and recognition on Morris Animal Foundation's Wall of Honor.
