NEW YORK – July 30, 2004 – Have you ever imagined setting a Guinness World Record? Can you watch TV for more than two straight days and nights?  Now with NBC’s around-the-clock coverage of the Athens Olympics, viewers can compete to set a world record.


NBC Olympics and Guinness World Records have partnered to host a world record attempt for consecutive hours of television watching at Universal Orlando Resort during NBC’s unprecedented, 24-Hour Athens Olympic coverage beginning with NBC’s coverage of the Opening Ceremony at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Aug. 13.  The announcement was made today by Gary Zenkel, Executive Vice President, NBC Olympics and Alistair Richards, Chief Operating Officer, Guinness World Records
