FEI Sets Official Competition Stall Dimensions

The eighth revised edition of the FEI Veterinary Regulations Article, Annex I, 1.1, includes modified requirements for stable dimensions at FEI competitions effective as of January 1, 2000. The change is based on the recommendation of the FEI Veterinary Committee, and is being announced now to allow event facilities to make modifications in time to stay in compliance with FEI requirements.

The revised FEI Veterinary Regulations state that stalls of at least 9 square meters are recommended and must be provided at FEI competitions as of January 1, 2000. The Regulations also state that 20% of loose boxes must be at least 12 square and available to accommodate the largest horses in attendance. Furthermore, as of January 1, 2000, stalls measuring less than 9 square meters will no longer be permitted at FEI competitions.
