Veterinarians from around the globe will convene Dec. 4-8 in Denver, Colo., to celebrate the American Association of Equine Practitioners’ (AAEP) 50th anniversary at the AAEP 50th Annual Convention.


As the world’s largest continuing education meeting devoted to equine veterinary medicine, the convention will offer scientific sessions, professional development seminars and hands-on workshops for veterinarians, veterinary students and technicians. The comprehensive scientific program will include topics such as dentistry, sports medicine, surgery and lameness.


The Frank J. Milne State-of-the-Art Lecture, sponsored by the AAEP Foundation, Inc., will be delivered by Dr. Peter D. Rossdale of Newmarket, England, who will highlight the influence of intrauterine development on the immediate and long-term clinical consequences for the individual in his address, “The Maladjusted Foal: Influences of Intrauterine Growth Retardation and Birth Trauma.”


Noted sports figure and motivational speaker Rick Pitino will deliver the convention’s keynote speech. Pitino is head coach of the University of Louisville men’s basketball team as well as a best-selling author and successful racehorse owner.
