BSMG, the public relations division of Bozell International, the agency that developed the successful “Milk Moustache” campaign, has been hired by the Horse Industry Alliance to develop a 5-year Marketing Plan that has an objective of raising $15 million+ over the next three to five years. The purpose of the funding is to support a multi-part marketing and communications plan designed to increase awareness of and participation in equestrian sports.

Bozell has considerable experience in major industry fund raising. BSMG was chosen from over 30 candidates and after two extensive rounds of review during the second half of 1998. BSMG, based in Dallas, has been hired under a six-month agreement.

Funding required for this start-up and plan development phase, plus the maintenance of on-going HIA operations during 1999, amounts to $300,000. While HIA membership continues to grow, the organization can’t generate these kinds of funds without major new sources of support.
