Judges Announced for the 2000 Congress

The Ohio Quarter Horse Association has announced the list of judges who will officiate the 2000 All American Quarter Horse Congress horse show. Specific judge's assignments will not be announced prior to the show.

Team Roping event--dropped

After holding discussions with the United States Team Roping Association to host regional finals in team roping prior to the start of the 2000 Congress, the Ohio Quarter Horse Association has decided not to host a team roping event this year, other than the AQHA-approved classes already scheduled for October 22. The proposed regional show would have taken place September 29 - October 1 in the Celeste Center.

Hotel/Motel Reservations now being taken for 2000 Congress Just a reminder that hotel reservations are now being accepted for attendees of the 2000 All American Quarter Horse Congress. Call 740/943-3906 to make your reservations. Camper rentals fully booked The Ohio Quarter Horse Association has learned that the two companies that provide camper rental and set up at the Ohio Expo Center for the All American Quarter Horse Congress have already been booked solid for the duration of the Congress show. If you had plans to rent a camper to stay at the Congress, you will need to look to a local camper sales company in your area at this time!

Congress Entry Brochure mails in July The Congress horse show entry/premium booklet for the 2000 show is in production and will be mailed in mid to late July. Congress management took steps to reduce its mailing list in 1999, so you may wish to verify that you remain on the active mailing list by writing, calling or e-mailing the Ohio Quarter Horse Association prior to July 1, when labels are expected to be printed. If you have already received our Congress Futurity brochure, or if you are a member of the Ohio Quarter Horse Association, however, you will automatically receive the 2000 Congress show brochure. The brochure will contain the complete horse show, special event, lecture and demonstration schedules, as well as complete horse show entry and stalling information. Horse show entries for the 2000 All American Quarter Horse Congress are due back to the OQHA office by August 25. Advertising rates for OQHA publications are available online! Advertising rates for the Congress Souvenir Program and the Ohio Quarter Horse News are now available online at the OQHA web site. Go to http://www.oqha.com/ohio/newsadv1.html and choose the link to business or breed rates for either publication. As always, layout and design services are available at no additional charge with a proof provided prior to publication. The Congress Souvenir Program ad deadline is July 31 for materials, be sure to reserve your space early for best placement!

Web site redesign in the works The Ohio Quarter Horse Association is currently working on a redesign of its web site, and is expected to unveil it approximately June 1. Look for even more eye-catching, easy-to-navigate pages from us in the future! If you have suggestions of things you would like to see on the OQHA web site, please let us know!

Further details about the 2000 All American Quarter Horse Congress will be announced as they become finalized. The All American Quarter Horse Congress will take place October 2-22, 2000, at the Ohio Expo Center, Columbus, Ohio, and is sponsored annually by the Ohio Quarter Horse Association.
