MD Barns has announced sponsorship of the MD Barns Silver Spur Award. The award recognizes an American Quarter Horse who has made a significant impact on the lives of others.


This award will honor those exemplary American Quarter Horses who are cast into the public spotlight through prominent accomplishments and help create a favorable public perception of the breed.


Criteria:



  • Must be a registered American Quarter Horse
  • Horse must have enriched the life of a human being(s) through outstanding training, contribution or accomplishment in the previous 12 months (May 1 to April 30 of each year)
  • The ideal candidate will exemplify AQHA’s positioning line of “America’s Horse, Let Freedom Ride” Selection Process:

All horses must be nominated by July 1, 2000. From those nominated, the top 50 candidates will be presented to a celebrity panel, who will then choose the top five candidates. American Quarter Horses in the final round will be placed on AQHA’s web site. AQHA Members who have an AQHA Online Personal Identification Number (PIN) will be allowed one vote. Votes must be received in AQHA’s offices by October 1
