California Equine Herpesvirus Update

Five horses have been confirmed positive for equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1) in San Mateo County, Calif. Results are pending on one other horse. Three horses have been euthanatized, and three are undergoing acyclovir antiviral treatment. Wayne Browing, DVM, of Bayhill Equine, has been monitoring the cases.
