Horse Slaughter Bill Would Lift Illinois Ban

Illinois Rep. Jim Sacia is a horse owner, and while he stated in an article that he would not personally use slaughter plants as an end-of-life choice for his animals, he believes that decision should be left up to individual horse owners. Sacia is sponsoring a bill in the Illinois General Assembly to lift the state's ban (enacted three years ago) against commercial horse slaughter....
