Eventer Hoy Cleared on Abuse Charges

Three-time Olympic equestrian gold medalist Andrew Hoy was cleared July 24 on charges of abusing a horse. The Australian and Dutch eventer Madeleine Brugman, whom he trains, had been accused by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) of using illegal spiked boots on a horse at a competition in Barroca d'Alva, Portugal, in March. But a tribunal set up by the FEI ruled Thursday there were "contradictions and inconsistencies" in the world governing ...
